Los Angeles, USA – It is with deep sorrow that the International ArtScience Olympiad (IASO) Organizing Committee announces the passing of Professor Leon Max Lederman—Nobel Laureate in Physics, former director of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, and a visionary advocate for science education. Professor Lederman passed away peacefully on October 3, 2018, in Rexburg, Idaho, at the age of 96.

Auckland, New Zealand, August 22 – The three-day 2018 International ArtScience Olympiad (IASO) concluded successfully at the exhibition center of the International Olympic Innovation Organization in Auckland, New Zealand on August 17. Focused on the theme of “Transcendence,” the event brought together 45 young competitors from nine countries and regions—including the United States, New Zealand, Australia, and Germany—forming nine interdisciplinary teams that showcased exceptional creativity and innovation across both art and science.
